So. I bet some of you were wondering what this whole fuss was about. Well, today is launch, our fashion show takes place at noon. The agency hosting the venue is Timeless Agency, and I can say I personally am excited about this show.

So what is Fashion Designer Challenge exactly? Well, believe it or not, its a collaborated effort between 35 + Designers. We actually did work together. Now isn’t that amazing. Not only did we work well together, but we manage to really learn about one another, how we work, think and act.

It really gave us a fresh look at one another and for me, it really showed me the talent behind all of these designers. Not only is it full of passion, their work is amazing and with out a doubt the best in secondlife. Why do I say that? Taking a challenge meant, we had to take the idea of another, and work by those guidelines. It was like taking a peek into their mind and hoping to create what they saw in their head when they gave us their Challenge. Part of this was, beside writing a challenge and accepting one, and cringing after we turned it in for inspection and ducking (laughs that was just me I was the only man in this so talk about intimidation) it also involved blogging about another designer not even part of our personal challenge or for that matter part of our category of design.

Yeah, so I thought long and hard about this since I don’t exactly wear dresses or stilettos, but I do love seeing them on women”grins”.

Learning Indrya was the one I had to blog about, I shoot an IM to her (all of this was random it wasn’t like I could pick my challenge or who I blogged) and ask sweetly what was her challenge and if I could have a picture of it. We joked around a bit (oh and uh, I kinda confused her with another designer talk about wanting to crawl into a hole and hide ! ) I look at the pics of her dress, and Felicity Overloads strappy shoes and my first reaction was ‘how sexy’ Ok now no, thats not all I am going to say about the design. (LOL tho I did joke to Indyra that was all i could muster )

INDYRA’S CHALLENGE:

Indyra Seigo was challenged by Clio Cardiff to:

“A dress that SMELLS like coffee… I want to see a dress that smells like coffee!”

This vibrant knee length dress, halter style is in a rich mocha colour. It flows down almost in a satin look with a sheen to it that is neither splotchy nor cartoonish. (It doesn’t look like it was cut out of a magazine for those who do not understand what I mean) Its textures are well blended and has some embroidery on the hem as well as in the bodice. The bodice ladies, dips down low and is a very seductive summer dress. I believe it to be a perfect in between for formal and casual depending on your accessories.

This dress is almost in a baby doll style except there is a unique waist, that is not cinched at all but has what I believe are tiny straps in the front. There is also above that a peek of the top of the stomach area so again showing more of the body, a more seductive look then anything. The embroidery reminds me of tiny little crystals hand put in a pyramid design on the hem and down the bodice.

So did Indyra meet her challenge? The rich mocha colour of this seductive but beautiful dress does make me smell the coffee and take a sip… *grins*

Yes, I ended up chosing my own challenge…I didn’t actually think I’d pick it And I just wanted to make an updated version of a strappy shoe with a T-Strapped chain.

Her Challenge: “Smells like Coffee”

So…how did the name for the stilettos become “Dream?” This is the challenging part In my strange thought process, in the morning between wakefulness and sleepiness is grogginess. If you smell coffee, it implies that you should be waking up, but most of us know that waking up is rarely easy. This represents the last few seconds of dreaminess before that painful moment of full alertness.

When Felicity gave me the shoes to take a look at I took one look at them and thought Now if those can only be untied on the back. (Okay my bad) Seriously tho, these stilettos are very modern, hip, and sexy. Open toe, and with muti straps up the foot. They are on a platform base, with a well done chaining up the foot from the first set of straps to the ankle. These do have the ribbon on the back of the foot. The craftsmanship of these are exquisite, the detail on the chaining and the back of the shoe is very well done. Not that I see anyone zooming in on your foot ladies, but these shoes are well worth getting. Since I am a jeweler, I do tend to zoom in on work to get a closer look at the craftsmanship.

These are done in the rich coffee colour to match Indyra beautiful and sensual dress, as well as in a Silver, dark brown, gold and black. ( I am sure you girls have a different name for these colours so cut me some slack lol. The gold tips on the heels is what caught my eye. That touch alone makes me think of seeing these on and my eyes following the foot up the leg…..

Ya ok ill get my mind out of the gutter now.. are these a dream? *smiles*
